Custom Fabrication Shop
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Specialized Welder to join our custom fabrication team. This is not a production welding position. Our work involves one-of-a-kind, highly customized projects built from detailed blueprints and specifications for clients across the United States.
Projects range from structural fabrication and architectural elements to unique specialty builds, including landmark projects such as the Grand Staircase for the Historic Stanley Hotel. Every project is different, providing an opportunity to showcase advanced welding, fabrication, and problem-solving skills.
The ideal candidate will possess strong blueprint-reading abilities, a commitment to quality craftsmanship, and current or previous AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality welding on custom steel fabrication projects.
- Read, interpret, and work from detailed blueprints, engineering drawings, and shop drawings.
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble components to meet project specifications.
- Perform structural welds in accordance with AWS standards and company quality requirements.
- Inspect completed welds for accuracy, integrity, and workmanship.
- Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fellow fabricators to complete complex custom projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Assist with material handling, layout, and fabrication as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Previous welding and fabrication experience in a custom fabrication or structural steel environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Current AWS D1.1 Certification preferred, or ability to successfully obtain certification.
- Must successfully pass or re-test for AWS D1.1 certification upon hire.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to measure accurately and work within tight tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fabrication shop environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Structural steel fabrication experience.
- Experience with unique architectural, ornamental, or specialty fabrication projects.
- Multi-process welding experience (MIG, Flux Core, Stick, TIG).
- Experience fabricating from start to finish with minimal supervision.

Pay Details: $28.00 to $34.00 per hour
