About the Role:
You will manage afast-paced Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing unitspecializing in post-acute recovery. Your patients are among the most clinically complex and rewarding to care for— recovering fromsurgery, stroke, cardiac events, and serious medical conditions, including high-volume wound care and ambulatory rehabilitation.
What You'll Do
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Assistant Nurse Manager and frontline nursing team— serving as a visible, hands-on clinical resource
- Build and sustain a culture of psychological safety, accountability, and clinical excellence
- Oversee staffing, daily workflows, and unit operations with a focus on efficiency and fiscal responsibility
- Ensure compliance withJoint Commission, CARF, CMS, and National Patient Safety Goals; drive quality improvement and monitor outcomes
- Coach and evaluate RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and support staff; champion professional development and internal advancement
- Partner with physicians, therapists, case managers, social workers, and families to deliver coordinated, person-centered care
Qualifications:
- Graduate of aCCNE-accredited nursing program
- Associate Degree in Nursingrequired;BSN preferred
- National certification (GERO-BC, RN-BC, CRRN, or equivalent) strongly preferred
- 5–7 years of nursing experience in Long-Term Care (LTC), Skilled Nursing, or Rehabilitation, including at least 2 years in a formal leadership or charge role
- Active Maryland RN license(required)
- BLS/CPR certificationthrough the American Heart Association
- Strong working knowledge of geriatric, subacute, rehabilitation, or memory care nursing practice
