Schedule
- Schedule varies based on training and operational needs.
- The Delivery Driver Lead must maintain a flexible schedule and be available to work various shifts.
- Training responsibilities may require working early morning, daytime, evening, overnight, and weekend schedules.
- Must be willing to work nights to train Shuttle Drivers and Hostlers.
- May be required to cover routes, conduct ride-alongs, and support transportation operations as business needs dictate.
Main Ingredients of the Job
- Participate in the Safety Performance Team and ensure that safety remains a key focus.
- Train and mentor new drivers on company policies, procedures, safety standards, and performance expectations.
- Monitor driver compliance and performance.
- Perform customer site visits to determine delivery feasibility and identify potential safety concerns.
- Partner with Night Warehouse Supervisors on safety initiatives, demonstrations, and visual aids.
- Conduct post-accident ride-alongs to assist with root cause analysis and retraining efforts.
- Participate in offsite training and professional development opportunities.
- Successfully complete all company-mandated training programs and assessments, including the US Foods Driver Onboarding Program.
- Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times.
- Carefully unload products from trailers using a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place products in designated customer storage areas.
- Verify delivery accuracy with customers and obtain required signatures.
- Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable.
- Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance the customer experience.
- Support the training and development of Delivery Drivers, Shuttle Drivers, and Hostlers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 20–80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift.
- Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift).
What You Bring to the Table
- Register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse.*
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess a valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and meet all DOT qualifications.
- Doubles endorsement required.
- No CDL restrictions permitted.
- Minimum of six (6) months commercial driving experience or three (3) months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required.
- Ability to operate manual transmission preferred.
- Must be willing and able to train Delivery Drivers, Shuttle Drivers, and Hostlers.
- Must be able to read and communicate in the English language, including understanding highway traffic signs and signals, responding to official inquiries, and completing reports and records.

FMCSA CLEARINGHOUSE REQUIREMENT
Registering with the FMCSA Clearinghouse is a requirement of the Department of Transportation. All drivers are required to register with the Clearinghouse database. The Clearinghouse provides real-time information about commercial driver's license (CDL) and commercial learner's permit (CLP) holders' drug and alcohol program violations. Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.
The expected base rate for this role is between $32.00 and $40.10 per hour.
