







Description
The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, within the Department of Medicine, at Albany Med Health System is seeking a Section Chief of Nutrition to lead the Nutrition Service at Albany Med Health System. The primary training of the physician can be in Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Family Practice or Surgery, with additional subspecialty expertise in Clinical Nutrition. The physician will provide nutritional care to adult medical and surgical patients with complex nutritional disorders including short bowel syndrome, enteric fistulas, inflammatory bowel disease, motility disorders, malabsorption, and bariatric surgery patients. The post will include developing and leading the inpatient multidisciplinary nutrition service at Alb Med Health System, (providing TPN and enteral tube feeding) and outpatient nutrition services. The leader will supervise and collaborate with the mid-level physicians, Dieticians (RD) and pharmacy staff. The physician will be eligible for an academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate Professor and Professor level commensurate with experience. The opportunity for program development and the ability to develop a research program in an area of interest within the field of Nutrition is available.
